Mercedes-Benz recently announced their all-new flagship electric vehicle, the EQS 580 4MATIC. The EQS 580 4MATIC is a luxury sedan from Mercedes, and the first one to be built on their all new electric architecture.
The EQS 580 features all-wheel drive with an electric motor mounted on each axle, the rear motor outputs 255kW and the front outputs 135kW for a combined power of 385kW or 516 horsepower and 631 lb-ft of torque. The EQS 580 utilizes an adaptive air suspension system and rides on 21-inch rims. In regards to performance, the EQS 580 is capable of reaching 60mph in just 4.1 seconds, and has a top speed of 130 mph.
The inside of the vehicle is luxurious and premium featuring ambient lighting, suede headrest pillows, and adjustable leather massage seats. However, the highlight of the interior is the Mercedes “Hyperscreen.” A 56-inch large curved screen that is comprised of three separate screens, two 12.3-inch screens and the centre 17.7-inch touch screen.
In terms of power, the EQS 580 utilizes a lithium-ion battery pack with a usable capacity of 107.8 kWh and has an EPA rated range of 340 miles. Using a 240v Level 2 charger, the EQS 580 can go from 10-100% in 11.25 hours, while a 480V DC charger will bring you from 10-80% in just 31 minutes.
The new Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4MATIC will be available later this year for a starting price of $119,110. The rear-wheel drive EQS 450+ will also be available later for a starting price of $102,310.
