IKEA and Sonos have returned with another product in their collaborative Symfonisk line of home audio products. The latest item is the Symfonisk Picture Frame Speaker that blends in with your existing home decor and provides clear room-filling sound. The Picture Frame Speaker joins the existing line of Symfonisk products including the Lamp Speaker and the Bookshelf Speaker that were released back in 2019.
The Symfonisk Picture Frame Speaker comes in either black or white, and can be mounted in both portrait and landscape orientations, or can be leaned against a wall with its built-in kickstand. The picture frame name is a bit misleading as you can’t actually use your own photos/art, however, IKEA will be offering a variety of interchangeable fronts for $19.99 each that you can pick and choose from to match your home and aesthetic.
The Picture Frame Speaker connects via Wi-Fi to stream and can be controlled with either the Sonos app, or the physical controls on the back left of the frame. The speaker is compatible with AirPlay 2, Spotify Connect, and supports all the major streaming services. Two Picture Frame Speakers can also be linked for stereo sound, as well as daisy-chained together so only a single power cord is required.
The IKEA x Sonos Symfonisk Picture Frame Wi-Fi Speaker is available online and at IKEA stores starting July 15th for a price of $199.
