LG’s Rollable OLED TV

LG’s innovative rollable TV, the Signature OLED R, which was initially debuted at CES 2018 as a prototype, is now finally available to purchase in the US for a hefty price tag of $100,000. The TV was originally available for purchase by inquiry only in the US.

The main selling point of the TV is its ability to roll in and out of its housing unit and completely disappear when not in use, the first and only television in the world to be able to do so. LG claims the panel is rated for 50,000 rolls.

In terms of the display itself, the TV features a 65-inch 4K OLED panel that runs at a native 120hz refresh rate and has support for Dolby Vision. For sound, the cabinet of the TV features a front-firing Dolby Atmos system. The TV is powered by an Alpha 9 processor and runs LG’s latest webOS which is compatible with Google Assistant, Alexa, AirPlay 2, and HomeKit. The TV also has a special Line View mode where only the top portion of the TV is visible to display important information such as the time, weather, music, etc.

The LG Rollable OLED R TV will be available for preorder in August for a whopping $100,000 from the LG website.
