Apple has just introduced a new MagSafe Battery Pack for their entire iPhone 12 lineup which includes the iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12, and iPhone 12 Mini. The battery pack will most likely be compatible with the upcoming iPhone 13 lineup as well. Apple has created battery cases in the past, but this is their first time creating an external battery pack.

Utilizing the new MagSafe technology, the battery pack simply snaps onto the back of your device magnetically to wirelessly charge your device with 5W of power. The MagSafe Battery Pack itself charges via the Lightning port or can be reverse charged through the iPhone if the iPhone is plugged into a power source.

Battery percentage can be viewed on either the Today View or Home Screen through the use of Widgets. The MagSafe Battery Pack requires iOS 14.7 or later and seems to have a total capacity of 1460mAh.

The MagSafe Battery Pack is available now from Apple’s website for $99 and will begin shipping on July 19th.
